Ross Holcombe is the Assistant Principal Trombonist of The Florida Orchestra, and an experienced teacher of trombone and low brass for students of all ages. Ross’s middle and high school students have been accepted to top conservatory and university music programs such as New England Conservatory, Juilliard, DePaul, and others, and his college students have gone on to graduate studies at the Eastman School, Michigan State, New England Conservatory, and others. Ross’s focus as a teacher is on helping an individual realize their unique goals and strengths, and integrating their technique with their sense of musical expression. Your first lesson will include a focus on goal setting and taking stock of your strengths and weaknesses to design a trajectory for long term improvement. Ross does not believe in “one size fits all” when it comes to music or brass playing, and tailors each lesson to the individual student.
