Evan Clifton is a talented bass trombonist and multifaceted musician. Hailing from Michigan, Clifton has quickly established himself in the Nashville music scene as a performer and educator.
Clifton began pursuing his music career at Western Michigan University where he earned a Bachelor in Music in Trombone Performance. After earning his Bachelor’s, Clifton went on to pursue a Master of Music from Michigan State University. As a performer, Clifton has been a bass trombonist for the Lansing Symphony (MI), Battle Creek Symphony (MI), Blossom Festival Band (Cleveland, OH) and West Michigan Symphony. He has also played with The Cleveland Orchestra, Grand Rapids Symphony, Kalamazoo Symphony (MI), Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, Saginaw Bay Symphony (MI), and Dubuque Symphony (IA).
Clifton is also a regular on recording sessions for albums and video game scores in Nashville including projects for Sony, Bungie, and EA Games. He has made solo appearances with the Ball State University Wind Ensemble, Western Michigan University Symphony Orchestra, and Michigan State University Wind Symphony. Clifton has also given performances and masterclasses as a guest artist at Murray State University, Ohio University, and Vanderbilt University, among others. Clifton was also named a finalist in many competitions, including those sponsored by the Eastern Trombone Workshop (now American Trombone Workshop), and the International Trombone Festival.
Clifton is a performing artist and clinician for Edwards Instrument Company and Denis Wick, performing exclusively on Edwards trombones and Denis Wick mouthpieces and mutes.
